Tsar & Tsai Hosts Judicial Officer Trainees for Insightful Exchange on IP Law
On March 31, 2025, Tsar & Tsai had the pleasure of hosting two representatives from the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO) along with five Judicial Officer Trainees. The visit was received by Partner Jeanne Wang and Advisor Attorney Vicky Wu. The Judicial Officer Trainees are currently undergoing judicial training and are expected to be appointed as judges or prosecutors upon completion of the training program.
Ms. Wang began the session by introducing the structure and objectives of our Trademark and Patent Department, emphasizing the practical contributions of patent attorneys in case handling. She also shared insights into the enactment of the Patent Attorneys Act, which came into effect on January 11, 2008, and discussed how the qualification routes and professional role of patent attorneys have evolved before and after the legislation. Following that, Ms. Wu provided a brief overview of the firm’s history. The visit concluded with a vibrant roundtable discussion, where both attorneys and the trainees exchanged views on how law firms may offer feedback to the judiciary in the context of IP cases. The event ended on a warm note with Ms. Wang presenting a small souvenir to each visitor, followed by a group photo to mark the occasion.
